Verse 1
"big bright sun" - arms overhead in circle
"twinkling stars" - hands overhead, palms out, twinkle fingers
"trees so tall" - sweep hands from floor to sky
"animals big and animals small" - spread arms wide, then bring hands together

Verse2
"rain and snow falling" - twinkle fingers coming from sky to floor
"mountains high" - hands above head, fingertips touching in peak
"fish that swim" - palms together, making a forward wiggling motion
"birds that fly" - arms flapping on each side of body

CHORUS
"Give God thanks every day." - arms upward, fingers spread, move hands side to side
"Remember to fold your hands to pray." - hands folded together in front of body
"Just bow your head. Say a little prayer." - Keep hands folded, bow head.

My Second Christian Children's Book, "Give God Thanks," Will Be Available Soon!!!!!!!!!

So excited to announce that my second picture book will be coming out soon!!  It is called "Give God Thanks," and has beautiful photos for illustrations.  Mary Sue Roberts did such a wonderful job with the photography! What a talented lady!

This delightful, interactive, musical picture book teaches young children the importance of thankfulness and prayer.  Sweet faith-building rhymes, a catchy melody, and implied actions make this book a sure winner with young children!

Lovely Things: Now Available!

Finally a published author!  It's wonderful sharing this experience with my hometown friend and illustrator, Jim Stukey.  Our book, Lovely Things: The Blessings of the Seasons has been very well received.  The book signing was April 7th at the Coffey County Library, and was attended by many friends and community members. It's been so much fun sharing this book with children at the Emporia Christian School, as well as our county library. I am a retired elementary teacher. During my teaching career I taught second and third grades, remedial reading and math, and elementary music. I live in Kansas with my husband of forty years. I enjoy church activities, music, creative writing, traveling with my husband, and spending time with my children and three grandsons.

My first picture book, Lovely Things: The Blessings of the Seasons, will be published in the spring of 2018 through Guardian Angel Publishing. This touching, poetic picture book expresses thankfulness for the beauty, wonder, and joy that each season brings. It helps children develop appreciation for the majesty of God’s creation and gratitude for the simple things in life.
